In the episode "Sozin's Comet, Part 2: The Old Masters" , Bumi tells Team Avatar about how he took back his city during the solar eclipse, during which a line seems to have been cut out. I can't remember what is was or why it was removed. Does anyone know?

A line was not cut out. The scene simply transitioned into a flashback, and Bumi continued narrating the events that partook during the liberation of Omashu for the remainder of the scene. Below is the full conversation between Bumi and Team Avatar in Sozin's Comet, Part 2: The Old Masters.
Sokka: So, Bumi, how did you end up escaping your imprisonment in Omashu?
Bumi: Escape? I didn't escape! Everybody else escaped! There I was, back in Omashu, waiting for...

Bumi (as narrator): ...just the write moment. I didn't know what or when, but I knew I'd know it when I knew it!
Bumi (in flashback): An eclipse! That will do it! (grunts and escapes by using Earthbending)
Fire Nation soldier (in flashback): What do you think you are doing? (attempts to Firebend)
Bumi (in flashback): Taking back my city! You've got no fire power, and it's payback time! (destroys all signs of Fire Nation insignia in the city, and forces the troops to evacuate)

Suki: Wow! You took back your city all by yourself!
Bumi: So what about you guys? Did you do anything interesting on the day of the eclipse?
Zuko: (looks at Sokka) No.
